Overview

More Hope for Disabled Foundation (MHDF) is an organisation that was founded by the disabled, is managed and controlled by the disabled and has the purpose of making disabled people become self reliant by equipping them with skills that enable them to make a living for themselves.

We strongly believe that disability is never inability and that the disabled can be helped to solve their own problems.

Objectives

  • To train disabled people into employable skills (eg. footwear making, art work and sign writing, carving, dress making, hair dressing, tailoring and computer training)
  • To employ people living with disabilities in order to help them earn a living and become self reliant.
  • To offer educational scholarships to brilliant but needy disabled children or children whose parents are disabled and are unable to cater for their children's education.
  • To advocate and create more awareness on the potentials and capabilities of the disabled as well as the challenges facing them.
  • To assist in selected communities in the areas of health, sanitation and recreation for the benefit of society and, in particular, the disabled.

  • Membership

Membership is opened to all disabled, members must be in school or in apprenticeship training or be willing to get trained in employable skills and to earn a living employed either by MHFDF or other organisations in order to become self reliant.

    Management Team

The organisation is managed fully by the disabled themselves with free professional assisstance from qualified personnel who have volunteered to help achieve the objectives of the set-up.
